Nota d'usoIl sostantivo protagonista non corrisponde sempre a “protagonist”, parola che viene usata per lo più dai critici letterari o cinematografici. Nell'inglese di tutti i giorni si tende a utilizzare la locuzione “main character”: I protagonisti fuggono e si sposano, the main characters run away and get married. Se, parlando di film o teatro, si vuole indicare l'attore che interpreta la parte del protagonista, si usa la locuzione “leading actor”, o “lead”: Chi faceva il protagonista?, Who was the lead?
